From unfinished chores and homework struggles to the constant tug-of-war over screen time, raising independent, motivated children can sometimes feel easier said than done. An upcoming free class through the St. Tammany Health System Parenting Center is designed to help.
“Nurturing Self-Motivated Children” -- which is set for 6 to 8 p.m. June 1 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital -- will give parents, grandparents and guardians practical tools for encouraging responsibility, confidence and healthy decision-making in children of all ages. The class will explore ways to help children develop motivation from within while building the life skills they need to succeed at home, at school and beyond.
Open to both St. Tammany Health System colleagues and community members, the free class is part of the Parenting Center’s mission to support families across the Northshore with education, encouragement and real-world parenting resources.
