COVINGTON – St. Tammany Health System’s Home Health Department has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation’s Best Home Health agencies for 2026, earning a “High Performing” rating, the highest possible designation.
Only 17% of the nearly 8,000 Medicare-certified home health agencies evaluated nationwide earned the High Performing designation in the publication’s inaugural Best Home Health rankings, announced in late February.
According to U.S. News, agencies earning the High Performing designation have demonstrated “a high quality of care and excellent patient experience.”
“This recognition reflects the extraordinary compassion, clinical expertise and dedication our home health colleagues bring into patients’ homes every day,” said Joan Coffman, president and CEO of St. Tammany Health System. “To be counted among the nation’s best affirms our commitment to delivering safe, high-quality care close to home for everyone in our Northshore community.”
The U.S. News Best Home Health ratings based on in-depth data analyses of a number of quality measures, all hinging on patients’ outcomes and their overall experience.
Originally certified by Medicare in 1984, St. Tammany Health System’s Home Health Department provides skilled nursing, therapy and support services to patients across the Northshore, helping them recover from illness or surgery, manage chronic conditions, and maintain independence in the comfort of their own homes.
