After months of construction and planning, the St. Tammany Health System Parenting Center unveiled its new home at the Koop Drive Trailhead in Mandeville on Tuesday (March 17) – and Northshore residents wasted no time in putting it to the test.
Dozens of local families turned out to get a first look at the roughly 3,000-square-foot facility, which is located within shouting distance of the Tammany Trace walking path, the Kidz Konnection Playground and other Trailhead amenities.
Helping to build stronger families by building confident parents since 1987, the Parenting Center is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays with a full slate of classes and other programming. Learn more at www.StTammany.health/ParentingCenter – and scroll down for more photos of the new facility.

The new Parenting Center facility includes a fenced outdoor play area for the benefit of those children with a little extra energy to burn (and their parents).

An indoor play area specifically for little ones boasts a tree-lined view of the Tammany Trace Trailhead railroad car.

Going down? A child tests out some of the indoor play equipment at the new Parenting Center, which boasts an array of programming to promote confidence and competence in parents, encourage optimal development for their children, and enhance the well-being of local families as a whole.

No time to talk. There are toys to be played with.

Sunlight plays off a table in the new Parenting Center’s crafting and snack room on the center’s first day in its new digs on March 17, which – as luck has it – was also St. Patrick’s Day.
