It all begins with listening, observing and learning. Taking the time to truly understand our patients' needs is at the core of our caring philosophy. It is the reason that we are referred to so often by other physicians, patients and colleagues. Our prim Dr. Joey LaMartina II is a dual-fellowship trained, board certified orthopedic surgeon, specializing in shoulder, elbow and sports medicine. He earned a medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed a Residency with Boston University Orthopaedic Surgery Residency. Dr. LaMartina completed a sports medicine fellowship at UCSF in San Francisco and a shoulder and elbow fellowship at the Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa. His special interest include management and treatment of adolescent and adult sports injuries of the knee, hip, elbow and shoulder. He also specializes in the management of shoulder pathology, including shoulder replacement surgery, reverse shoulder replacement surgery, and revision shoulder replacement surgery. He was born and raised in the area and is a graduate of St. Paul's School in Covington. He completed his undergraduate training at the University of Notre Dame.
