Mark Jones MD is a native of the Covington area who returned home in September 2014 as a surgeon, focusing on disorders of the endocrine system and gastrointestinal tract. He received his bachelor's degree in microbiology from Louisiana State University in 1997 and earned his medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport in 2009. He completed his residency at the Greenville Health System in Greenville, S.C., in 2014. ``I'm very fortunate to be able to return to my hometown to provide world-class care and surgeries, in addition to continuing to make our community a healthy one`` Dr. Jones said. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons. He enjoys spending time in the Louisiana outdoors with his wife and three children.
