COVINGTON – St. Tammany Health System is proud to welcome Lakeshore Urology as presenting sponsor of the fourth annual Man Up! men’s health event, a free community-focused evening dedicated to education, prevention and accessible screening opportunities for men across the Northshore.
The event, which is open to the public, will be Wednesday, June 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Covington Beer Garden (436 N. New Hampshire St.). Complimentary beer will be provided to those completing screening activities, with additional food and adult beverages available for purchase.
Now in its fourth year, Man Up! continues to grow as a cornerstone men’s health outreach initiative on the Northshore, bringing together local specialists, mobile health resources and community partners to meet men where they are with practical, potentially life-saving information and services.
“Men’s health is often delayed or overlooked until symptoms become impossible to ignore,” said Anne Pablovich, director of community engagement for St. Tammany Health System. “Man Up! is about changing that pattern by creating a welcoming, approachable environment where men can learn, ask questions and take proactive steps toward better health. We are deeply grateful to Lakeshore Urology and all of our Man Up! partners for their continued commitment to our community.”
This year’s event will feature a robust lineup of education and screening opportunities, including:
- Men’s health education provided by Lakeshore Urology.
- Lung cancer screenings and education via the STHS Breathe Well ConneCTion mobile CT unit.
- Musculoskeletal ultrasound screenings and education provided by STHS Physical Therapy.
- Colon cancer screenings and education provided by Gastro Group & Endocenter.
- Skin cancer screenings and education provided by Christel Malinski, MD.
- Heart health education and carotid ultrasound screenings provided by STHS Covington Cardiovascular Clinic and STHS Ultrasound.
Man Up! reflects St. Tammany Health System’s ongoing commitment to expanding access to preventive care through community-based outreach and collaboration with trusted local providers. By combining education, screening services and an informal setting designed to encourage participation, Man Up! aims to reduce barriers that often prevent men from engaging in routine healthcare and early detection services.
