As Americans prepare to celebrate Independence Day with fireworks, flags and family, St. Tammany Health System is inviting colleagues and community members alike to mark the occasion in another meaningful way: by helping save lives.
STHS will host its next community blood drive in partnership with The Blood Center on Tuesday, June 16, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Mandeville/Covington Room at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, 1202 S. Tyler St. in Covington.
All successful donors will receive a limited-edition commemorative polo celebrating this year’s 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence – a patriotic keepsake available only while supplies last.
As always, walk-ins are welcome but appointments are encouraged to help reduce wait times. They can be made at The Blood Center website or by scanning the QR code below.
Summer is traditionally one of the most challenging times of year for maintaining a stable blood supply, as vacations and holiday schedules often lead to fewer donations. At the same time, hospitals continue to rely on blood donors every day to support surgeries, cancer treatments, emergency care and patients facing serious illness or injury.
