Patients are seen by appointment Monday through Friday. If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, please call and let us know as soon as possible as we would like to be able to offer that appointment time to another patient.
Before leaving for your visit to St. Tammany Pediatrics, you should:
For any life-threatening emergency, call 911. In the case of a non-life-threatening emergency, you can contact the office 24 hours a day. If you’re calling after normal business hours, our professional answering service will connect you with the physician on call for after-hours
If you need a refill on your medication, call your pharmacy and they will check with your pediatrician regarding refill requirements. Routine prescriptions are filled within 48 hours of request either by the patient or pharmacy. Medications will not be refilled after hours, on weekends or on holidays. Please plan ahead before you run out of your medication.
St. Tammany Pediatrics is contracted with most insurance plans. For proper claims processing, we require a current copy of your insurance card at the time of the visit. It is the patient’s responsibility to be familiar with their insurance policy benefits and to know if an authorization or referral is required for other services.
Dr. Perry Russell, nurse practitioner, talks with “Healthy Living” host Melissa Hodgson about the wealth of medical services available at St. Tammany Pediatrics, which is St. Tammany Health System’s primary care pediatrics clinic.

St. Tammany Pediatrics recommends you bring your child in for regular well-visits to help keep him or her healthy. During these well-visits, your pediatrician will administer any vaccines that are due and check your child’s growth and development. There are always times when an in-person visit is preferable, but for those times when it’s not – whether you’re suffering from a cold or something more serious – a video visit with your St. Tammany Health System care provider lets you consult with your doctor or nurse electronically without having to so much as pull on your socks. Click the link below for simple, detailed instructions on how video visits work, including technical requirements.
If your child ingests something you suspect might be dangerous, we encourage you to immediately call the Poison Control Hotline at 1-800-222-1222 or visit the Poison Control Center website, which maintains an up-to-date and comprehensive database to help manage ingestions of medicines or other substances. Both options are free, expert and confidential. We are available to help if needed, but Poison Control experts should be your primary resource.
Our highly trained office is available to assist with any questions about scheduling, insurance and other non-medical matters. Our dedicated physicians and staff look forward to providing you with access to quality and compassionate care for your children.
