Next week is Medical Laboratory Professionals Week, and you can show your appreciation for the St. Tammany Health System lab team by rolling up your sleeves – and maybe helping them win a free meal in the process.
STHS is teaming with The Blood Center to host a pair of upcoming mobile blood drives at the following locations. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments – which you can make at the links below – are encouraged.
St. Tammany Physicians Network – Mandeville (201 St. Ann St., Suite B, Mandeville) – Tuesday (April 26) from 7:30 a.m. to noon. Make an appointment here. St. Tammany Health System main campus (1202 S. Tyler St., Covington): Wednesday (April 27) from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Make an appointment here.

The STHS blood drives coincide with a Northshore vs. south shore blood donation challenge pitting local hospitals in a friendly competition to see which side of the lake can generate the most blood donations.
The challenge runs through the end of April and asks donors to declare their geographical allegiance when they donate. The side of the lake that generates the most donations will get a “foodie” prize for the participating hospitals’ lab teams – along with the satisfaction of knowing they’re saving lives by boosting local blood supplies..
In addition to STHS blood drives, another local blood drive will be held as part of the competition on Thursday, April 28, at Covington’s Bogue Falaya Hall (317 N. Jefferson St.) from noon to 5 p.m.
Visit The Blood Center website for a complete listing of blood drives throughout the community – and remember to tell them St. Tammany Health System sent you!
